David Smith was appointed by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors as the County Executive in August 1976.
During his tenure, Smith was involved with the future of the Sacramento Medical Center along with several budgetary and spending programs.
Smith was also responsible for planning, organizing and directing county activities. Smith left the position of County Executive in June 1978.
