Pending Disability Retirement Leave of Absence

Purpose

County employees who have applied for disability retirement and have exhausted all leave balances are entitled to an unpaid leave of absence pending a decision by the Sacramento County Employees' Retirement System on the disability retirement application.

Eligibility

Any regular employee who has applied for a disability retirement and has exhausted all available accrued leave balances.

Entitlement

The employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay until the Sacramento County Employees' Retirement System has decided on the application for disability retirement.

Use of Balances

The employee must exhaust all available accrued leave balances before unpaid leave is authorized.

Request Procedure

The employee must inform the Department of Personnel Services that their application for Disability Retirement has been submitted to the Sacramento County Employees' Retirement System.
